We'll obey Wike's 2027 directives - Rivers APC

The All Progressives Congress (APC) leadership in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State pledged to follow the instructions of Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, ahead of the 2027 elections. Wike made the statement during his “thank‑you” visit on Sunday, when he was received by various stakeholders, including the party’s chairman, Rejoice Otobo. Otobo said the people were ready to support Wike, citing his past contributions to the area: “We await instructions from you on the 2027 elections concerning Rivers State. Wherever you ask us to go, there we shall go; whatever you ask us to do is what we will do.”

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman in the area, Ikechukwu Obuzor, also pledged total loyalty to Wike, acknowledging the hope he had given the people. Chita Eugene, chairman of Ahoada Local Government Council, described Wike as the political field marshal of the South‑South, praising his efforts in attracting development to Rivers State. House of Representatives member for Ahoada West/Ogba‑Egbema/Ndoni Federal Constituency, Victor Obuzor, noted that Wike’s achievements in the area and his impact as a former governor had earned him deserving support.

The Seyi Tinubu Support Group, led by Chidi Amadi, expressed backing for Wike and the re‑election of President Bola Tinubu. Wike’s visit was intended to thank the people for their strong support during the 2023 elections and to emphasize the need to restore Rivers State’s political glory, which he said had been compromised by poor leadership. He insisted that Governor Siminalayi Fubara should not receive a second term, arguing that the state’s leadership mistake must be corrected in 2027.

Now, as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Wike believes Rivers State can regain nationwide respect by having a trusted leader to drive progress. The developments in Rivers State are likely to have significant implications for the 2027 elections, with various stakeholders already voicing their support for Wike’s vision. As the political landscape evolves, the outcome of the 2027 elections in Rivers State will be closely watched, given Wike’s influence and the pledged support from multiple groups.
