Benue Governor Alia Set For Second Term Re-election

The Chairman of Ado Local Government Area in Benue State, Mr. Oche Sunday Oche, has expressed confidence in the re-election of Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia for a second term in 2027. According to Oche, the governor’s performance in office has been outstanding, and residents of Benue State are satisfied with the current administration.

Speaking in Akure, Ondo State, Oche noted that the governor has made significant progress in addressing insecurity, which has decreased substantially within two years of his tenure. The council boss attributed the governor’s success to his record of achievements, particularly in infrastructure development, prompt payment of salaries, and quality healthcare. These strides have reportedly encouraged opposition party members to join the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State.

Oche commended the National Chairman of the APC, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, and the Benue State APC Chairman, Mr. Benjamin Omale, for their support of Governor Alia’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which is aligned with President Bola Tinubu’s vision. The recent affirmation of governors as leaders of the APC in their respective states by the party’s National Working Committee has resolved the leadership dispute in the Benue chapter.

Key allies of the governor, including Dr. Livinus Tsar, Chief Moses Ternenge, and Rt. Hon. Solomon Wombo, have been praised for their efforts in mobilizing grassroots support for the governor’s 2027 ambition across the state’s 23 local government areas. Oche assured that his administration would continue to support Governor Alia by delivering tangible democratic dividends to the people of Ado Local Government Area.

The significance of Governor Alia’s potential re-election lies in his administration’s ability to address the state’s challenges, including insecurity and infrastructure development. As the 2027 elections approach, the APC’s stance on Governor Alia’s candidacy is expected to influence the political landscape in Benue State. With the party’s leadership tussle resolved, Governor Alia’s campaign is likely to gain momentum, driven by his record of achievements and the support of key stakeholders.
