Dangote Refinery denies shutdown reports operations ongoing

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has refuted claims that it has halted operations, describing such reports as false and misleading. In a statement released on Monday, the company asserted that production at the refinery remains stable and ongoing, with no interruptions.

The refinery currently supplies between 40 and 50 million liters of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) daily, a trend expected to continue through January and February, subject to market demand. On January 4, the refinery produced 50 million liters of PMS and successfully evacuated 48 million liters. Its current stock levels are sufficient to cover more than 20 days of national fuel consumption.

Routine maintenance is being carried out on selected units, but this has no impact on overall output. The production of PMS, diesel, and Jet A-1 continues seamlessly through fully operational processing units. The company’s ex-gantry price remains at N699 per liter, available to all marketers and bulk consumers without discrimination.

Dangote Refinery urged stakeholders to patronize locally refined, high-quality petroleum products. The refinery’s operations are significant, given the current demand for petroleum products in the country. With its production capacity and stable supply, the refinery plays a crucial role in meeting the nation’s fuel needs.

The clarification from Dangote Petroleum Refinery comes amid reports of fuel scarcity in some parts of the country. The company’s assurance of stable production and supply is expected to alleviate concerns about fuel availability. As the refinery continues to operate at full capacity, it is likely to have a positive impact on the country’s fuel market, ensuring a steady supply of petroleum products to meet the growing demand.
