The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State has emphasized the importance of active participation in the ongoing electronic registration exercise and the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) being conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Benjamin Omale, the state’s APC chairman, made this appeal during a meeting with a delegation of political leaders and stakeholders from the Otukpo/Ohimini Federal Constituency.
Omale stressed that broad participation in the CVR is crucial ahead of future elections, including the 2027 polls. He encouraged party members to take the electronic registration exercise seriously and urged residents to turn out in large numbers to register. The APC chairman highlighted the importance of unity, loyalty, and collective effort in preparations for the upcoming elections.
The meeting was attended by a delegation led by Musa Ujor, the Deputy Chief of Staff to the Governor, who commended the state party leadership and expressed confidence in the APC’s direction at both state and national levels. The delegation also appreciated Governor Hyacinth Alia’s governance style, citing his openness, generosity, and inclusiveness towards their constituency. They acknowledged the governor’s support for the Otukpo/Ohimini area, evident in key appointments, including the Deputy Governor, Commissioners for Finance and Health, and the APC State Chairman, all of whom hail from the zone.
The delegation, comprising elders, women, youth groups, and influential community figures, pledged to mobilize full grassroots backing for the APC and Governor Alia as the 2027 general elections approach. They also lauded Omale for his consistent leadership and efforts to strengthen and stabilize the party structure across the state. The APC’s commitment to principles of fairness, justice, and inclusiveness was reiterated, with assurances that the party will continue to prioritize the interests of the people under Omale’s leadership.
The emphasis on voter registration and party unity comes as the APC prepares for the 2027 elections. With the electronic registration exercise and CVR underway, the party is encouraging its members and the general public to participate actively in the democratic process.
