Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni has awarded automatic employment to Miss Surayya Kabir, a distinguished first‑class graduate of the Physics Department at Yobe State University. The announcement was made in a statement by Mamman Mohammed, Director‑General of Press and Media Affairs, to the governor in Damaturu on Friday.
Kabir has been appointed as a Graduate Assistant in the university’s Physics Department. She presented her appointment letter to Governor Buni and expressed gratitude for the honor bestowed upon her and her family. The governor congratulated her on the impressive achievement and praised her as a role model for girls in the state.
Governor Buni emphasized the importance of emulating Kabir’s feat, stating, “You are an excellent ambassador of the girl‑child education programme in the state. Kabir’s academic record is noteworthy; she emerged as the overall best student of her cohort with a remarkable 4.84 cumulative grade point average—an unprecedented accomplishment since the Physics Department’s establishment in 2006.
