Wike reacts to sack calls from critics as minister

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has responded to recent calls for his removal from office. Speaking during a thank you visit to the Obiora/Akpor area of Rivers State, Wike stated that the decision to sack him lies solely with President Bola Tinubu, who appointed him to the position.

Wike emphasized that he is proud of his accomplishments in the Federal Capital Territory and believes that the people of Rivers State should share in this pride. He noted that his work in the FCT has been satisfactory, and as such, he has not disappointed the people of Nigeria.

The minister’s comments come amidst speculation about his performance in office. Wike, however, remains confident in his abilities, stating that if he were not doing well, nobody would be discussing his tenure. He reiterated that the power to remove him from office rests with the president, and it is not for others to dictate.

Wike’s visit to Rivers State is part of his efforts to engage with his constituents and provide updates on his work in the FCT. The minister’s remarks highlight the importance of accountability and the need for public officials to be judged on their performance.

As the Federal Capital Territory continues to undergo development, Wike’s role in shaping its growth and infrastructure remains crucial. The minister’s commitment to his work and his pride in his accomplishments are evident, and his message to the people of Rivers State and Nigeria is one of assurance and dedication to his duties.

The Federal Capital Territory is a key area of focus for the Nigerian government, with ongoing projects aimed at improving infrastructure and services. As the minister responsible for overseeing these efforts, Wike’s performance is under scrutiny. While some have called for his removal, the minister remains focused on his work, emphasizing that his appointing authority is the only one who can make decisions about his tenure.
