Kaduna roads construction Governor Uba Sani completes projects

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has announced that his administration is currently constructing 140 roads across the state’s 23 local governments, covering a total distance of 1,335 kilometers. The governor made this statement during the inauguration of a newly asphalted road linking Durum to Kuruntumawa towns in Makarfi Local Government Area. He emphasized that all the road projects are of standard quality and were conceived and initiated by his government.

Governor Sani also pledged to complete road projects inherited from previous administrations. He recalled that the Kuruntumawa-Durum road project was initiated after he visited the community last September and heard about their struggles with poor road infrastructure. The governor stated that the new road is more than just a concrete structure, but a lifeline that will facilitate the transportation of farm produce, enable students to safely attend school, and provide access to healthcare.

The governor reiterated his commitment to rural transformation and inclusive governance, ensuring that both rural and urban areas receive their fair share of projects. He noted that Makarfi Local Government Area was one of 12 local governments that had not benefited from any road projects in the last 12 years. However, his administration has remodelled the Makarfi General Hospital, which had been abandoned, and it will be inaugurated soon.

The Secretary to the Kaduna State Government, Dr. AbdulKadir Meyere, commended the governor for fulfilling his campaign promise to construct the Kuruntumawa-Durum road. He recalled that the people of Kuruntumawa had requested the road during the 2023 campaign, and the governor has delivered on his pledge. The chairman of Makarfi Local Government Area, Hon. Garba Sabon Gari, expressed gratitude to the governor for the developmental projects executed in the area, including the restoration of electricity and the construction of the Kuruntuwa to Durum road.

The inauguration of the Kuruntumawa-Durum road is a significant milestone in Governor Sani’s efforts to improve infrastructure in Kaduna State. With the ongoing construction of 140 roads across the state, the governor’s administration aims to enhance connectivity, facilitate economic growth, and improve the overall quality of life for residents. As the state continues to invest in infrastructure development, it is expected that more communities will benefit from improved access to markets, schools, and healthcare facilities.
