BSUTH Clinical Services Resume After ARD Strike Ends

Clinical Services Resume at Benue State University Teaching Hospital Following End of Doctor’s Strike

Clinical services have returned to normal operations at Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH) in Makurdi, after the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), BSUTH chapter, officially called off its industrial action.

The hospital’s management confirmed in a statement that the resident doctors returned to work immediately following the suspension of the strike. This development restores full access to medical care across all clinical and auxiliary departments at the major regional facility.

The resolution follows intervention from state authorities and stakeholders. BSUTH management expressed sincere gratitude to Benue State Governor Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia, the government’s negotiating team, and other involved parties for their roles in facilitating a resolution to the dispute.

The hospital also commended the ARD for its cooperation and commitment to patient care, noting that the decision to end the strike demonstrates a shared priority for public health in Benue State.

BSUTH management further thanked the general public for its patience and understanding during the work stoppage. It reassured patients and the community of its ongoing dedication to providing safe, efficient, and quality healthcare services.

Members of the public are advised that clinical services at BSUTH are now fully accessible.

The statement was signed by Tsenzughul Moses, Chief Information Officer and Head of Public Relations and Protocol for the hospital.
