By-Election Wins Back Tinubu’s Agenda

APC Claims By-Election Results Endorse Tinubu’s Leadership and Agenda

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has asserted that the outcomes of recent by-elections across Nigeria constitute a public endorsement of President Bola Tinubu’s leadership and the party’s governance agenda.

In a statement on Sunday, Seye Oladejo, spokesperson for the Lagos State APC, said the results reflect growing public confidence in the party’s direction, particularly the federal government’s “Renewed Hope Agenda.” He described the outcomes as “a clear and democratic referendum” on President Tinubu and the APC’s policy path.

The statement expressed gratitude to voters in states including Rivers, Kano, and the Federal Capital Territory, framing their participation as an affirmation of the party’s reform agenda. According to the APC, the victories by its candidates demonstrate public trust in the ongoing economic reforms, infrastructure projects, and institutional strengthening initiatives of the Tinubu administration.

The party further argued that the results signal a rejection of opposition parties, which it accused of relying on “rhetoric and online activism” instead of offering practical policy alternatives. “Governance is not driven by social media popularity,” Oladejo stated, adding that electoral success is determined by “grassroots engagement and voter confidence” rather than online trends.

Looking ahead, the Lagos APC suggested the by-election momentum indicates strong prospects for the party in the 2027 general elections, citing what it called “increasing public trust” in the administration. The spokesperson credited the outcomes to “decisive leadership, courageous reforms, and a commitment to national development.”

The statement also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for conducting credible polls and praised security agencies for maintaining order. It acknowledged the efforts of party leaders, campaign teams, and volunteers in grassroots mobilisation.

Concluding, the Lagos APC urged Nigerians, including opposition members, to set aside partisan differences and collaborate for national unity and prosperity.

Note: The original statement did not specify which particular by-elections were referenced. Recent months have seen several state-level electoral contests, including gubernatorial and legislative by-polls in various regions.
