The leader of Nigeria’s INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has issued a stark warning to President Bola Tinubu regarding perceived security threats within the presidential villa and from foreign influences.

In a statement disseminated through his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele urged the president to exercise extreme caution concerning his inner circle, foreseeing imminent danger. The religious leader specifically highlighted a threat he described as “external aggression” from entities opposed to Tinubu’s continued administration.

“There is danger in the presidential villa. The President must be very careful of the people working closely with him,” the statement quoted Primate Ayodele as saying. He called for heightened vigilance from Nigeria’s security apparatus, instructing the Chief of Defence Staff, the Department of State Services (DSS), and other agencies to be proactive in averting any external interference. “I don’t know where it is coming from, but they shouldn’t take it for granted,” he added.

The warning extended to Nigeria’s diplomatic relations. Primate Ayodele advised President Tinubu to be wary of his friendship with the American government, suggesting it could be detrimental. “America isn’t your friend, don’t be desperate about them,” the primate stated, alleging that unnamed individuals were sabotaging the president’s work under the guise of international cooperation. He urged Tinubu to scrutinize agreements and promises made to foreign powers to avoid future harm to the nation.

Primate Elijah Ayodele is a prominent figure in Nigerian Pentecostalism, often known for making public predictions about political and national events. His statements, while carrying significant influence among his followers, are spiritual counsel rather than intelligence assessments.

The pronouncement underscores ongoing concerns about presidential security and foreign policy alignment in Nigeria. It places a public, prophetic perspective on the complex challenges of governance, internal trust, and international diplomacy faced by the Tinubu administration. The direct call for security chiefs to be on alert adds a layer of urgency to the spiritual advisory.
