The Nigerian Exchange Limited rebounded on Wednesday, with investors gaining N107 billion after a loss of about N1 billion on Tuesday. The All‑Share Index and market capitalisation rose 0.35 percent to 55,801.14 points and N30.397 trillion, respectively. Since the start of the year, the ASI has moved 4,205.48 points, delivering a year‑to‑date return of 8.15 percent.

Trading volume reached 152,742,743 shares across 3,293 deals, valued at N3.572 billion. Market breadth was flat, with 18 stocks posting gains and 18 experiencing declines. The top gainers were Trans Nationwide Express plc (+9.88 percent, closing at N0.89), Cutix (+8.50 percent, N2.17) and FTN Cocoa (+7.69 percent, N0.28). The leading losers were MRS (‑9.98 percent, N27.95), ABC Trans (‑7.89 percent, N0.35) and Chams (‑7.41 percent, N0.25).

The Financial Services sector continued to dominate trading activity. Zenith Bank led the most‑traded chart with 6,261,268 shares exchanged in 249 deals, worth N162.465 million. It was followed by GTCO, which saw 12,749,020 shares traded in 227 deals, amounting to N335.933 million. MTN Nigeria ranked third, with 598,909 shares traded in 189 deals, valued at N148.903 million.
