The Managing Director of International Breweries Plc, Mr. Coutino Carlos, emphasized the importance of increasing women’s capacity and involvement in the tech sector during a program in Lagos on Wednesday, International Women’s Day 2023. The event, themed “#EmbraceEquity” with a focus on “DigitalAll: Innovation and technology for gender equality,” aimed to recognize and celebrate women and girls who champion transformative technology and digital education.
Female professionals from the tech industry and other successful stakeholders attended the gathering, sharing their experiences and the impact they are making in society. He highlighted how technology has transformed the world, influencing every aspect of life—from smartphones and social media to artificial intelligence and blockchain. At International Breweries Plc, the company is committed to promoting diversity and inclusion across all business areas, including technology. Consequently, the firm will launch an exciting initiative for young female tech enthusiasts.
Mr. Carlos expressed pride in the talented men and women on the company’s team who contribute significantly to technological advancement. He also commended women making headway in fields such as data analysis, software development, cybersecurity, and other technology professions. “Your passion, creativity, and perseverance inspire us all, and we are proud to stand with you in your search for excellence,” he said.
International Breweries remains dedicated to building a more diverse and inclusive technology sector where women can thrive and excel alongside men. “We are proud of our women and look forward to consolidating our efforts in empowering them in technology and beyond,” he concluded.
