Samsung has unveiled its latest flagship lineup, introducing the Galaxy S25 series alongside updates to its foldable, flip, and tablet devices. The announcements were made during a virtual event that highlighted a range of new hardware and software enhancements aimed at strengthening the company’s position in the premium mobile market.
The centerpiece of the launch is the Galaxy S25, S25+, and S25 Ultra, which feature upgraded Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processors, up to 12 GB of RAM, and improved camera systems. The S25 Ultra adopts a 200‑megapixel primary sensor, a per‑isomorphic design that Samsung says will deliver sharper images across various lighting conditions. Battery capacities have been increased to 5,000 mAh for the S25 and 5,200 mAh for the Ultra model, supporting fast charging at 45 W and wireless charging at 15 W. All three models run on Android 15 with One UI 8.5, offering refined multitasking, enhanced privacy controls, and a new “Dynamic Edge” UI that adapts color themes based on wallpaper.
In the foldable segment, Samsung introduced the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Z Flip 6. The Z Fold 7 now incorporates a 7.6‑inch inner display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and a 6.8‑inch cover screen, both powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. The device’s hinge mechanism has been redesigned for increased durability, and the under‑display camera has been upgraded to 12 MP. The Z Flip 6 retains its clamshell form factor while adding a larger 6.7‑inch foldable screen and a 3.4‑inch external display. Both devices benefit from an improved battery life of up to 12 hours of mixed usage and support 25 W fast charging.
Samsung also announced the Galaxy Tab S10, a premium Android tablet that replaces the previous S9 model. The Tab S10 is equipped with a 12.4‑inch AMOLED panel, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. It supports the S Pen with reduced latency and ships with Android 15 and One UI 8.5, promising a seamless experience for productivity and entertainment.
Across the product range, Samsung emphasized its commitment to sustainability, noting that the new devices use recycled aluminum and plastic components. The company also announced a global rollout of its One UI 8.5 update, which will be available to compatible Samsung devices over the next few months.
The launch positions Samsung to compete directly with rivals such as Apple, Google, and Xiaomi in the high‑end segment, offering a blend of performance upgrades, camera advancements, and software refinements. Availability for the Galaxy S25 series and accompanying devices is slated for October 2024 in major markets worldwide, with pre‑orders beginning next week.
