Redmi K100 Pro Max: Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, 9070mAh, Aug 11

Redmi K100 Pro Max was first showcased during the recently concluded China Joy event, where the company revealed the handset’s design and confirmed that the new flagship will launch in China on August 11. The device is positioned as the high‑end member of the Redmi K100 Pro series and is expected to deliver a noticeable upgrade over its predecessor.

The K100 Pro Max is built around an optimised octa‑core Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset from Qualcomm, fabricated on a 3 nm process. The SoC is paired with a dedicated D2 graphics chip to boost gaming performance. Battery capacity is reported at 9 070 mAh, and the phone will feature a 6.9‑inch OLED display, a triple‑camera unit on the rear, a speaker cutout branded “Sound by Bose,” and will be offered in at least a Cabernet Red colourway.

Gaming benchmarks shared by “NewReviewTech” (translated from Chinese) on Weibo and reported by Gizmochina show the K100 Pro Max delivering an average of 119.7 frames per second while drawing 3.63 W of power. In the title Peace Elite the device maintained the same average frame rate but drew 4.09 W. Additional tests on Delta Force, Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail produced average frame rates of 119.5 fps, 59.9 fps and 55.6 fps respectively. These figures suggest that the new chipset and graphics configuration will provide higher frame‑rate stability and improved power efficiency compared with the previous generation.

Redmi China’s product manager Xinxin Mia confirmed the presence of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 in a reply to the Weibo post, noting that the upcoming smartphone will offer better battery life and real‑life performance. A company executive also stated that the K100 Pro Max will deliver 40 percent more battery life than its predecessor, a claim that aligns with the larger 9 070 mAh battery and the lower average power draw observed in the benchmarks.

The combination of a cutting‑edge 3 nm processor, a dedicated gaming‑focused graphics chip, a sizeable battery and a high‑resolution OLED display positions the Redmi K100 Pro Max as a compelling option for gamers and power users alike. With its launch slated for August 11 in China, the device will be one of the first flagship releases of the year to showcase Qualcomm’s latest 3 nm platform and to demonstrate Redmi’s continued focus on delivering high performance at a competitive price point.
