The Action Peoples Party (APP) has issued a comprehensive timetable for its primary elections ahead of the 2027 General Elections, following approval by the party’s National Working Committee. The schedule, released by the party’s National Office, serves as formal notice to aspirants and stakeholders in Imo State to begin preparations in line with the outlined dates.

Pre‑primary activities commenced on 6 May 2026 with the publication of the notice of primary elections at all levels. The sale and submission of completed nomination and expression‑of‑interest forms will run from 6 May to 25 May 2026, after which the list of cleared aspirants is slated for release on 27 May 2026.

The timetable sets specific dates for each category of elective position:

  • Presidential Primary – 27 May 2026 at the National Headquarters.
  • Senate Primary – 29 May 2026 at the Senatorial District Headquarters.
  • House of Representatives Primary – 29 May 2026 at the Federal Constituency Headquarters.
  • Governorship Primary – 30 May 2026 at the State Secretariats.
  • House of Assembly Primary – 30 May 2026 at the Local Government Area Headquarters.

The party also disclosed the fees attached to nomination and expression‑of‑interest forms. The presidential nomination form is priced at ₦77 million, with a ₦3 million expression‑of‑interest fee. Governorship aspirants must pay ₦7 million for nomination and ₦3 million for expression of interest. Senatorial candidates face ₦3 million nomination and ₦2 million expression‑of‑interest fees, while House of Representatives hopefuls are required to remit ₦3 million for nomination and ₦1 million for expression of interest. For the House of Assembly, the nomination fee is ₦1 million and the expression‑of‑interest fee is ₦500,000.

In line with its inclusivity agenda, the APP announced that women and persons living with disabilities will receive their nomination forms free of charge. The party’s leadership emphasized its commitment to conducting transparent, credible, and fair primaries across all tiers.

The schedule and fee structure provide a clear framework for party members as they position themselves for the forthcoming general elections, marking a critical phase in the APP’s internal democratic process.
