Guber election: IG of Police announces restriction of vehicular movement

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Baba, has announced the restriction of vehicular movement during this Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections.

The Force spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed this in a statement on Thursday.

According to Adejobi, the restriction would take effect from 12am to 6pm.

The elections will take place in 28 states across Nigeria.

Adejobi noted that the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is excluded from this order, as no election will occur in the country’s capital.

The Force spokesperson also said officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), observers, and other persons carrying out essential services are excluded from the restriction.
