Former Senate President David Mark has called on all stakeholders in the electioneering process to guard against any form of malpractice so that the results truly reflect the people’s wishes. Speaking to reporters after casting his vote with his wife, Helen, in Otukpo, Benue State, Senator Mark urged the Independent National Electoral Commission and security operatives to ensure that the outcomes represent the electorate’s choices.

He noted that the voting process had been peaceful so far, emphasizing that “a peaceful election is the desire of all Nigerians to usher in a new administration.” “Let the will of the people prevail,” he said, adding that the process had been smooth and orderly in his area and expressing hope that it would continue seamlessly nationwide.

Senator Mark stressed that a free and fair election would guarantee a peaceful society, which in turn would foster progress for the country.
