The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured a dominant victory in the Osun State House of Assembly elections, winning 25 of the 26 seats. The sole seat not captured by the PDP was the Boripe/Boluwaduro State Constituency, where the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Olufemi Popoola, received 15,594 votes, narrowly defeating the PDP’s Adesina Aina, who garnered 14,817 votes. These results were confirmed by the Independent National Electoral Commission’s Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, on Sunday.

The APC’s prominent figure, Timothy Owoeye, the Speaker of the Assembly representing Ilesa East and a five‑term incumbent, lost his re‑election bid. He was defeated by the PDP candidate, Olatunbosun Oyewole, who was returned as the new lawmaker for that constituency.

Several incumbents retained their seats. Kofoworola Babajide was re‑elected for Ede North, and Adewumi Adeyemi won again in Obokun State Constituency. In Ilesa West, Olawale Akerele secured re‑election, while Tajudeen Adeyemi won in Ifelodun, and Akinloye Bajepade captured the Ila seat. Kashope Abolarinwa was elected for Ifedayo, Adekunle Oladimeji for Irepodun/Orolu, Adewale Egbedun for Odo‑Otin, and Olaide Ajibola for Olorunda.

Further results include Rasheed Lawal’s victory in Osogbo, Sanmi Areoye’s win in Atakumosa East and West, and Abiola Awoyeye’s election in Ife Central. Olumide Fatunmise secured Ife East, Akinyode Oyewusi took Ife North, and Lawrence Adeoti won Ife South. Olakanmi Ajibola was elected for Oriade, Folorunso Ogundare for Ayedaade, Elisha Oderinwale for Ayedire, and Taofeek Olayiwola for Ede South.

In the remaining constituencies, Rotimi Ogunrinade won Egbedore, Ibrahim Abiola was elected for Irewole/Isokan, Rabiu Adesina captured Iwo, Ibrahim Abiodun took OlaOluwa, and Olujinmi Asagade secured Ejigbo.
