The Kano State Police Command arrested Isyaku Ali Danja, a member of the state House of Assembly from the Gezawa constituency, along with several others accused of leading a group of hoodlums that attempted to destroy an Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) collation centre in Gezawa Local Government Area.

Police Commissioner Husaini Gummel disclosed the arrests on Sunday while parading about 161 suspects detained for various political crimes during the recently concluded governorship and House of Assembly elections. According to the commissioner, the detainees are alleged to have snatched ballot boxes, disrupted voting, wielded dangerous weapons, and been involved in drug‑related offenses.

Gummel emphasized that all the suspects will be further investigated and prosecuted. He urged the public to cooperate with law‑enforcement authorities and avoid any wild celebrations that could lead to violations of the law.
