Oyo Election: APC’s Folarin concedes after loss to Makinde

The All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship candidate in Oyo, Teslim Folarin has congratulated Governor Seyi Makinde.

Makinde of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was declared the winner after polling 563,756 votes; Folarin scored 256,685 votes.

In a statement on Monday, Folarin commended party leaders, members and electorates for their support for APC candidates.

The Senator thanked Oyo APC Presidential and Governorship Campaign Council for their loyalty, and dedication and for “the best-ever issue-based campaigns”.

“To our teeming party members and support groups, I appeal to you to remain calm as we study the results of the just concluded election,” he said.

Noting that “God gives power and takes power”, Folarin prayed that Oyo State and the indigenes would continue to prosper.
