The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, has congratulated President‑elect Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and the newly elected governors. In a statement he personally signed on Tuesday, Soludo praised the Independent National Electoral Commission and highlighted the need for continued reform and strengthening of Nigeria’s electoral processes and citizens’ political participation as the country moves toward a more perfect system.

Soludo identified Nigerian youths as the true heroes of the 2023 national elections, emphasizing that their voices will remain critical in building a new Nigeria. He expressed confidence that the nation is a winner and that a better future lies ahead. He also urged anyone aggrieved by the elections to pursue their mandates through the proper legal channels, encouraging them to approach the courts.

Beyond the elections, Soludo warned that the insecurity plaguing the South‑East must concern all Nigerians. He called on President‑elect Tinubu to release the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu, immediately after his swearing‑in, stating that Kanu should be included at the table as a key stakeholder in discussions on healing and sustainable peace in the region. While noting that security agencies are achieving significant results, Soludo added that lasting peace will be enhanced through broader, non‑kinetic engagement with all critical stakeholders.

Finally, Soludo pledged to collaborate with the federal government for the development of Anambra State and Nigeria as a whole, affirming that “this is the only country that we call ours and we must make it work.”
