Orban joined Belgian club Gent from Norwegian second‑division side Stabek in January for €3.3 million, and he has quickly become one of the most exciting talents in world football. The deal now looks like a steal, as the 20‑year‑old has hit the ground running, setting records in both the Belgian Jupiler Pro League and European competition.
Orban made history in the Europa Conference League last week by scoring the fastest hat‑trick ever in a European competition. He netted three goals in three minutes during Gent’s 6‑1 demolition of Turkish side Başakşehir FK, taking his tally to 12 goals in nine games across all competitions. The previous record for the quickest hat‑trick in a UEFA club competition belonged to Mohamed Salah, who scored three times in six minutes in Liverpool’s 7‑1 victory over Rangers in October 2022. Before his European heroics, the former Bison FC player scored four goals in a league match against Zulte Waregem, becoming the first Gent player to net four times in a competitive game since 1958.
