The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced on Thursday that notification slips for candidates who registered for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) optional mock‑UTME, scheduled for Thursday, 30 March 2023, will be available for printing from Thursday, 23 March 2023. A total of 176,408 candidates are expected to sit for the mock examination.

All candidates for the mock‑UTME must visit https://www.jamb.gov.ng, click on “2023 Mock‑UTME” in the menu, and print their slips after entering their registration number. This directive applies only to candidates who indicated interest in taking the mock examination, according to a statement from JAMB’s Director of Media and Publicity, Dr. Fabian Benjamin.

The notification slip includes the candidate’s registration number, examination venue, date, and time, enabling candidates to locate their centres easily before the test. Candidates are required to arrive at their centres at least one hour early for biometric verification. JAMB emphasized that the scheduled start time for the examination is strict and reiterated its zero‑tolerance policy for examination malpractice.

Candidates are advised not to bring prohibited items such as wristwatches, calculators, flash drives, or phones into the examination hall. They are also warned against applying “laale” or any other substances to create drawings or paintings on their hands, as this could interfere with the biometric verification of finger whorls.
