The President of the National Institute of Credit Administration, Mr. Andy Ojei, announced the inauguration of several committees established by the institute’s governing council. Speaking at the inauguration event in Lagos, he thanked the members for agreeing to serve the institute voluntarily, honorably, and conscientiously across the various committees.
The committees include the Education, Training and Research Committee; the Membership and Subscription Committee; the Publication and Events Committee; the Government and Corporate Relations Committee; the Establishment Committee; the Credit Management Accreditation Committee; and the Economic Innovation and Emerging Industries Committee. According to Mr. Ojei, these committees are essential to the successful operation of the National Institute of Credit Administration.
He noted that on Tuesday, 16 August 2022, the Federal Government of Nigeria signed into law the National Institute of Credit Administration Establishment Act No. 1018 of 2022. This legislation designates the institute as a regulatory and supervisory authority for the credit management profession and positions it as a catalyst for transitioning Nigeria’s economy from a cash‑based system to a credit‑based one.
The leadership structure of each committee comprises a chairman, deputy chairman, secretary, deputy secretary, and rapporteur general. The institute’s secretariat, led by Registrar/Chief Executive Officer Prof. Chris Onalo, will coordinate the committees’ activities, and the registrar/CEO will serve as a member of every committee.
