Super Eagles coach, Peseiro gets $210k salary from NFF after 10 months

Super Eagles head coach, Jose Peseiro has reportedly been paid $210,000 from the salary owed him by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).

Peseiro, according to reports was previously owed $700,000 (10 months’ salary) by the NFF.

There were reports the Portuguese was ready to walk away from the job last year but was persuaded by top officials of the Federation to stay on.

The 62-year-old was contracted by the NFF in May 2022 and never received a dime until now.

Peseiro refused to speak about his salary situation following the Super Eagles’ defeat to Guinea-Bisssu last week Friday.

The Super Eagles have struggled under his tutelage which has prompted many to call for his sack.

The three-time African champions will next face the Leon Stars of Sierra Leone in a 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture in June.
