Minister of Aviation Hadi Sirika has agreed to lead a delegation tasked with enhancing bilateral trade and collaboration between Nigeria and Pakistan. He accepted the invitation after a courtesy visit to the ministry in Abuja by a team from the Africa Center for Asia Studies, the International Institute for Peace Leaders, UN‑Geneva, the Ajaokuta Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture, and other partners.
Speaking through the ministry’s Head of Press and Public Affairs, Odutayo Oluseyi, Sirika emphasized that strengthening trade ties would bring enormous benefits to both nations. In his keynote address, Pakistani Chargé d’Affaires Mr. Riazh Chughtai highlighted the global shift from geopolitics to geo‑economics, urging countries to reshape national policies toward economic development. He noted Nigeria’s status as the largest player on the African continent, underscoring its significant regional position.
Chughtai extended an invitation to Sirika to head the Nigeria Trade and Investment Mission to Pakistan, scheduled for later this year. He explained that the courtesy visit aimed to give the Nigerian business community a platform to showcase and promote its products in Pakistan, boost Nigeria’s exports, and attract investment to Nigeria.
