A fire broke out at the Flux Logistics warehouse in Ikeja, Lagos State, destroying the property but causing no casualties. The blaze began around 08:58 a.m. on Sunday at the company’s facility on Sapara Street, off Oba Akran Avenue. Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service personnel fought to contain the flames.

Adeseye Margaret, Director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, said that fire crews from Ikeja, Alausa, and Bolade managed to curb the fire and prevented it from spreading beyond the store. The National Emergency Management Agency’s Lagos Territorial Office confirmed the incident. Ibrahim Farinloye, the state coordinator for NEMA, reported that the fire consumed the entire warehouse, which stored imported drinks and other foreign materials.

Farinloye added that staff on duty might have stopped the fire’s spread initially, but the owners’ reluctance to break into the warehouse delayed action. The owners eventually ordered the doors to be forced open, but by then the situation had escalated. He also noted that the Berger Paints Fire Service worked diligently to keep the fire from reaching the nearby SKG Pharmaceutical Company.
