The Edo State Police Command has announced a N5 million reward for information leading to the arrest of Rachael Eboni Osazee Iyonmana, who is based in Canada and is accused of defamation, cyber‑bullying, stalking, and impersonation.

Speaking to journalists on Monday, the command’s spokesperson, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, explained that the police declared the suspect wanted in the Special Police Gazette Bulletin after receiving a petition on January 11 from Festus Alenkhe, Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Edo State Council. The petition alleged that Iyonmana had engaged in cyber‑bullying and stalking. Following the investigation, the police issued the wanted notice and sent a letter to the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Force CID Annex, Alagbon Close, Ikoyi, Lagos State.

While the police were pursuing Iyonmana, intelligence revealed that she was in Canada. During the ongoing investigation, she allegedly created multiple Facebook accounts using the petitioner’s photographs and full name to communicate with unsuspecting members of the public. On February 13, she reportedly opened additional Facebook accounts, again using the complainant’s picture and sending messages that appeared to come from Festus Alenkhe. The police emphasized that these accounts were not the work of the complainant but were intended to make it seem as if he were the one transmitting the messages.

The police stressed that anyone who knows of Iyonmana’s presence in Nigeria—particularly if she visits—should inform the authorities. Such information will be considered by the Office of the Commissioner of Police, the Public Relations Office, and the Anti‑Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit, and the informant will receive the N5 million reward. The Nigeria Police are cooperating with the Nigerian Immigration Service to arrest the suspect should she enter Nigeria.
