Captain Blessing Etim, who leads Nigeria’s senior women’s cricket team, was named the best fielder of the recently concluded Nigeria Cricket Federation Women’s T20I tournament in Lagos, Sports Extra reports. Nigeria clinched the championship on Sunday, defeating 2022 winners Rwanda by nine runs in a thrilling final at the Tafawa Balewa Cricket Oval.

She appeared in four matches, including an inspiring batting performance in the final against Rwanda, after being rested for the same opponent on match day five. In the games she played, Nigeria conceded an average of 68 runs.
Rwanda secured two individual honors: Henriette Inshimwe was named the tournament’s Most Valuable Player, and her sister, Gisele Inshimwe, received the best batter award. Sierra Leone’s Alice Fillie was recognized as the best bowler, while fourth‑place Cameroon earned the Spirit of Cricket Award.
