Roma manager José Mourinho has reportedly been offered more than £100 million to coach the Saudi Arabia national team on a two‑year deal, which would make him the highest‑paid manager ever, according to the Daily Mail. The English news outlet also noted that Al‑Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo’s club, are interested in Mourinho, with current manager Rudi Garcia likely to leave at the end of the season.
Mourinho, 60, joined Roma in 2021 and his contract with the Serie A side runs until 2024. However, the club has faced disputes over transfers and frustrations with its performances this season, leaving his future at Roma uncertain. In the meantime, “top management” has approached him directly about taking charge of the Saudi Arabia national team.
Corriere dello Sport reports that the proposed deal would pay £52 million (€60 million) per year and include two options for Mourinho: he could terminate the contract after the first season, or extend it until 2026—the year of the North American World Cup.
