The Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa (DTCA) has expressed interest in partnering with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to prepare Nigerian graduates in the diaspora for nation‑building. During a courtesy visit to the NYSC National Directorate Headquarters in Maitama, Abuja, DTCA Director‑General Rabiu Dagari noted that many Nigerian graduates living abroad are eager to return and contribute to the country’s development. He appealed to NYSC management to facilitate this process, adding that DTCA, together with the African Development Bank and the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, has identified additional areas of collaboration that NYSC could explore. Dagari promised that his office would devise ways to make these collaborations feasible.

In response, NYSC Director‑General Brigadier General Y.D. Ahmed said the scheme’s management had extensively considered how to maximize the potential of young Nigerian graduates for the nation’s benefit during its recent Annual Management Conference. He assured Dagari that the NYSC would incorporate DTCA’s proposal after reviewing it in accordance with the NYSC Act, stating, “We’ll do our best to work in accordance with the NYSC Act.”
