Bendel Insurance’s quest for their first win in the second stanza of the abridged 2022/23 Nigeria Professional Football League continued on Saturday, when they were held to a 1‑1 draw by Kwara United in Benin, Sports Extra reported. The result marked their fourth consecutive draw since the league’s restart, extending their unbeaten run to 13 matches.

The first half ended goalless, but Kwara United broke the deadlock in the 68th minute through Mohammed Alao. The Afonja Warriors pressed for a famous away victory, yet their lead lasted only ten minutes before Deputy Echeta rescued a point for Insurance with a close‑range finish.

The draw leaves Insurance atop Group A with 27 points, though their lead could be reduced if Akwa United defeat Nasarawa United on Sunday. In Group B, Dakkada secured their sole win of the season, beating newly promoted Doma United 1‑0 in Uyo thanks to a 59th‑minute goal. Despite the victory, Dakkada remain in the relegation zone with 11 points from 12 matches.
