Gunmen kill Delta politician, police nab three

The Delta State Police Command has arrested three suspects in connection with the murder of a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Agbarho, the Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, Chief Sylvester Efeurhobo.

A source in the community who did not want his name in print for security reasons told Metro on Monday that the deceased was shot by his assailants in his residence at Agbarho on Sunday.

The state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Bright Edafe, confirmed the killing and the arrest of the suspects on Tuesday.

β€œIt’s confirmed, we are still investigating. So far, three suspects have been arrested,” he said in response to an enquiry from Metro.

The deceased was said to be the Chairman of an APC support group in the area known as the Achievers Group.

Party faithful in the community have since called on security agencies to investigate the case thoroughly and ensure that the perpetrators are brought to book.
