EPL: What Boehly did after angry fans confronted him following Chelsea’s latest defeat

Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly was confronted by frustrated fans following the Blues’ Premier League 2-1 defeat to Brighton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

Boehly, who led the consortium that completed a £4.25 billion takeover of Chelsea in May 2022, was in the Stamford Bridge stands and watched his club slump to a third successive loss under caretaker manager Frank Lampard.

Goals from Danny Welbeck and Julio Enciso gave Brighton the victory over Chelsea.

However, some Chelsea supporters voiced their anger at Boehly, who was sitting in the directors’ box.

Images showed the American being subjected to criticism from supporters who were sitting above him inside the stadium.

Following his confrontation with some of Chelsea’s fans full-time, Boehly then headed to the home dressing room, where he stayed for almost an hour.

This is according to Spanish journalist Manu Sanchez, per The Sun, who says that the American was joined by fellow owner Behdad Eghbali.

The report added that the duo made a ‘swift exit’ from Chelsea’s home ground after finally re-emerging from the dressing room.
