Akwa United head coach, Ayodeji Ayeni has congratulated his players after they ended their two-game winless streak against Kwara United on Monday night.

The Promise Keepers were at their devastating best edging past the visitors 3-1 at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

Taiye Muritala, Cyril Olisema and Friday Ubong were on target for Akwa United in the game.

Samad Kadiri scored Kwara United’s consolation goal.

“I’m really excited that we were able to bounce back to winning ways. I want to congratulate my players for their determination and courage throughout the game,” Ayeni said in his interaction with the media after the game.

“It was a tough game, but we were able to win because we made the best use of our opportunities.”

The former Nigeria Premier Football League champions will be in action again on Thursday when they square up with WIkki Tourists in the Round of 64 of the Federation Cup.
