The Vice-Chancellor of Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University (IBBU), Lapai Niger State, Professor Abu Kasim Adamu, announced that the institution is set to award 37 students with a First-Class Degree during its upcoming convocation ceremony.

At a press conference held in Minna, Prof. Adamu stated that a total of 6,154 Degree and Postgraduate students would participate in the ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, May 20th.

He also revealed that 17 students were advised to withdraw due to their inability to cope with academic stress, while seven others were expelled for engaging in misconduct such as drug abuse and cybercrime.

Prof. Adamu disclosed that the graduating class is composed of 954 students with second-class upper certificates, 3,283 with second-class lower division degrees, 1,538 with third-class degrees, and 17 graduating with a Pass.

Of the participants, 5,719 students are from the undergraduate section, while 435 students are from the Post Graduate Diploma (PGD), and Masters Degrees. Prof. Adamu said that there would be two doctors of Philosophy (PhD), 19 Masters of Art, 92 Masters of Science, 68 Masters of Education, 204 Professional Masters, and 50 Postgraduates.

It is impressive to note that IBBU has continued to uphold high academic standards, with a considerable number of students receiving outstanding grades and degrees. This achievement is a testament to the commitment of the faculty and the hard work of the graduating students.
