Chief Paul Harris Ogbole (SAN), a former Member of the Board of Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and ex-Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Council of Benue State, has been appointed as a member of the Council for Legal Education by President Muhammadu Buhari.
The newly inaugurated council members also include 36 state attorneys-general and 17 Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) nominees, such as NBA President, Mr Yakubu Maikyau and leading Evidence Law author, Mr Sebastine Hon. Mrs Olufunmilayo Roberts was also appointed as a member of the council.
The Solicitor General of the Federation and Permanent Secretary, Mrs B.E. Jedy Agba disclosed in a letter that Ogbole’s appointment would take effect on May 13th, 2023 for a period of four years. The Council for Legal Education is responsible for legal education and professional training of aspirants to the Nigerian Bar, as well as law faculty accreditation and creating discipline in the legal profession.
Inaugurating the council on behalf of President Buhari, the Honourable Minister of Justice and Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami (SAN), tasked the council members to uphold the expectations of their offices as stipulated in their terms of appointment.
