Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu Advises Jerusalem Pilgrims on Conduct

The 2022 pilgrimage to Jerusalem and Jordan has come to a successful end, and returnees from Lagos State have held a thanksgiving service to honour God for their journey. The service, which was held at Chapel of Christ The Light, Alausa, had the wife of the Lagos State Governor, Dr Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, in attendance.

Sanwo-Olu’s representative, Mrs Mayowa Ikuforiji, advised the returnees to be great ambassadors of Christ and use the impact of the pilgrimage to strengthen their relationships with God and people around them. She charged them to reflect the light and salt of the world and strive not to return to old ways and lifestyles.

Sanwo-Olu expressed gratitude to God for the journey mercies and the success of the exercise on behalf of the pilgrims. She acknowledged there were no reports of any negative eventuality, which she attributed to the deep sense of appreciation and thanksgiving to God exhibited by the pilgrims.

Mrs Yetunde Gbafe, the Secretary of Lagos State Christian Pilgrims Welfare Board, explained that the thanksgiving service was consistent with the injunction in Psalm 100, where believers were charged to come into God’s presence with praise and appreciate him.
