Pro bono lawyers step up to help Lagos LP retrieve allegedly stolen mandates

The Labour Party’s Lagos State chapter has announced that a group of lawyers has volunteered to help the party and its candidates retrieve their allegedly stolen mandates. The move follows the outcome of Nigeria’s February and March 2019 general elections. Lagos State LP chair Pastor Dayo Ekong told the meetings’ attendees that legal practitioners would assist those who could not financially hire a lawyer. “All eyes are on the judiciary. We are going to win,” she said. The news was met with optimism by the attendees, who agreed to support the party in the next stage of the process.
