Ghana President to Chair Launch of Books on Buhari’s Legacies as Tinubu and Osinbajo Attend as Guests

The legacy of President Muhammadu Buhari is set to be explored and celebrated as two books about his time in office are presented to the public. The event, which is scheduled to take place on Friday, May 19, 2023, at the State House Conference Center, Abuja, will be chaired by Nana Akufo-Addo, the President of Ghana.

The books set to be presented are “State of Repair: How Muhammadu Buhari Tried to Transform Nigeria for the Better” by Anthony Goldman, a former Journalist, and ex-Africa Editor of the Financial Times of London and “The Legacy of Muhammadu Buhari” by Senator Abu Ibrahim, former representative of Southern Katsina Senatorial District in the National Assembly.

The event is expected to have several distinguished guests, including Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the President-elect, and Senator Kashim Shettima, the Vice President-elect. Other high profile guests, including the Vice President of Nigeria, Yemi Osinbajo, are expected to be in attendance.

Babagana Kingibe, the Chairman of the Organizing Committee for the book launch made the announcement in a brief statement released to the public on Wednesday.

With President Buhari due to step down from office on May 29, 2023, this public presentation of books on his legacy is an opportunity to reflect on the highs and lows of his administration, as well as the impact his tenure had on Nigeria’s political and socio-economic landscape.
