Lamidi Apapa Stands Firm, Vows to Attend Presidential Petition Court on Friday

The factional National Chairman of the Labour Party, Lamidi Apapa, has stated that he will once again be present at the Presidential Petition Tribunal on Friday. This follows the chaotic court proceedings that took place on Wednesday when Mr. Apapa and Mr. Julius Abure’s factions disputed the leadership of the party.

Despite the court’s decision not to recognize either faction, Mr. Apapa remains adamant that he will continue to assert his authority as the “authentic acting National Chairman of the party” and attend Friday’s hearing.

In a recent interview with Arise Television’s Morning Show, Mr. Apapa accused Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 election and the suspended National Chairman, Julius Abure of sponsoring thugs to beat him out of the Presidential Petition Tribunal on Wednesday.

Mr. Apapa’s unwavering commitment to the cause is a reflection of his determination to ensure that his party is well represented in the court proceedings. It is not yet clear whether this act will be beneficial or detrimental to the Labour Party’s reputation, but it does show Mr. Apapa’s unwavering commitment to upholding his beliefs and achieving his objectives.

The tension surrounding the Labour Party’s leadership has been a source of concern for its members, as the party tries to maintain its position in Nigeria’s political landscape. As the case continues to unfold, Nigerians await the outcome of Friday’s hearing with bated breath.
