The Katsina State Police Command has captured two notorious criminals known as Kauraye, who were responsible for burgling a mobile phone dealer’s shop and stealing 48 mobile phones. The suspects, Abubakar Haruna and Ibrahim Sani, who were apprehended in Katsina, confessed to the crime and revealed their plans to sell the phones in a neighbouring country.

According to the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Gambo Isah, the suspects were apprehended on Wednesday based on concrete intelligence. Mr Isa further claimed that the suspects had conspired with an accomplice, Tayi, who is currently at large and carried out the burglary at Tsohuwar Tasha.

In his statement, Mr Isa confirmed that the suspects would face prosecution and assured the public that the police would do everything within their power to capture other accomplices still at large.

The operation was a display of proactive policing and confirms the Police’s dedication to safeguarding lives and property across the state. The Katsina State Police Command has urged residents of the state to continue to provide credible intelligence to the police to help them in their quest to maintain peace and order.
