Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has reaffirmed his commitment to the ongoing sacking of bad workers in the government and the demolition of illegal structures in the state. Speaking at a book launch that was written about his administration, the governor announced that he would continue to carry out the exercise until his last day in office. El-Rufai added that the move would ensure that his successor would not have to repeat the same action.
According to the governor, “Any bad thing we find, we will remove it so that the next governor does not need to do it again. Watch out till the eleventh hour when we shall quit office, we will continue to sack bad persons and remove bad things.” The President-elect, Bola Tinubu, lauded El-Rufai as a hardworking person who could always deliver any task assigned to him.
Meanwhile, the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike, praised El-Rufai as a fearless and outspoken politician who always spoke truth to power. He donated N20m for the book launch and encouraged the guests to buy the books and stock them in public and private school libraries across the country.
The move by El-Rufai has generated mixed reactions from citizens, with some commending his commitment to good governance, while others have criticized it as a witch hunt. The governor had previously come under fire for the exercise, which had affected several workers, mostly teachers, in the state.
In conclusion, El-Rufai has shown that he is passionate about building a better Kaduna State and is ready to do whatever it takes to achieve this goal. Nonetheless, there is a need for him to ensure that the exercise is carried out with a human face and in accordance with due process.
