WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging service, has added a new feature that enables users to edit sent messages. This latest development was announced recently by the Chief Executive Officer of Meta, Mark Zuckerberg.
According to Zuckerberg, the new editing feature enables users to edit sent messages, even 15 minutes after sending them. He disclosed that this development will allow users to have more control over their chats, enabling them to correct spelling errors or add essential contextual information.
To edit a message, users have to tap and hold down the message for a few seconds and then select the “edit” option from the available menu.
Previously, users had to delete the messages or provide corrections through another message. However, with this new feature, users will find it easier and more convenient to make corrections.
The new feature is already being rolled out to users and is expected to become available to everyone within a few weeks. It is important to note that users of platforms such as Telegram and Signal have been using the messaging editing feature earlier than WhatsApp. Twitter also offers access to the edit button for its premium users.
This latest update from WhatsApp is expected to enhance user experience and improve the quality of communication on the platform.
