Benue Governor Samuel Ortom Forgives President Buhari

In an interview on Arise Television’s ‘The Morning Show’, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue state has admitted that he has forgiven President Muhammadu Buhari. Ortom had previously criticised Buhari‘s presidency for placing the blame on his administration over the killings in the state.

The governor cited the Christian Holy Book as the basis of his action stating, “when you don’t forgive, it means God too will not forgive.” He further added that he was positive that there would be a better performance from the incoming administration of President-elect Bola Tinubu in the state and Nigeria at large. He noted that the people of the state had suffered for eight years and appreciated the change that was coming.

Giving his advice to the President, Ortom advised that Buhari should stay back in Nigeria and work alongside the incoming administration to elevate the state and nation from “bottom to top”. Ortom had previously described the administration’s attempts to blame his government for the situation as a “futile attempt to twist events and history” but has now forgiven the President.
