The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, has promised to focus on good governance and people-oriented projects during his second term in office. He made this declaration at a special Jumat Service held at the Central Mosque in Kobiti, Abeokuta on May 29th to mark his upcoming inauguration.
Abiodun expressed his gratitude to the Muslim community for their unwavering support during his first term, which was key to his success in the previous election. He particularly thanked them for their religious tolerance and the positive influence their messages have had on the youth.
The Governor pledged to work on improving areas that require attention, ensuring that the residents of Ogun State receive good governance and people-oriented projects. He promised to prioritize these needs as he continues his administration in the coming years.
During his sermon, the Mufasiru of Egbaland, Dr. Taofeek Amolegbe, reminded Governor Abiodun that attaining a leadership position is an act of God Almighty, not determined by one’s academic or financial background. He advised the Governor to correct mistakes made in his first term and also embrace a spirit of forgiveness by calling on those who had wronged him.
In light of the Governor’s promises, citizens of Ogun State eagerly anticipate the start of his second term and the positive change he intends to bring.
