Zamfara Governor Matawalle Hands Over Transition Committee’s Documents to Dare

Zamfara State Governor, Hon Bello Mohammed Matawalle, has handed over leadership to the incoming Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governor, Dauda Lawan Dare, on Saturday. The governor presented the transition committee’s documents to Dare.

In a speech delivered by his deputy, Senator Hassan Nasiha Mohammed, Governor Matawalle revealed that the documents were compiled by the transition committee and detailed the administration’s activities from 2019 to 2023. The deputy governor further stated that the documents would serve as a guide for the incoming administration under Dare’s leadership.

Senator Mohammed warned the governor-elect to caution the PDP supporters and ensure a peaceful inauguration ceremony on May 29th. He advised against a repeat of the violence that occurred during the results declaration.

Reacting to the handover, the governor-elect, Dare, described the event as historic. He apologized for the destruction of All Progressives Congress (APC) properties by PDP supporters following the declaration of the governorship election result.

Dare promised to thoroughly study the handed-over documents and get back to the current administration should there be any concerns. He urged residents of the state to maintain peace and orderliness during the handover ceremony.
