Ogun Police Warns Against Violence as Abiodun Prepares for Second Inauguration

The Ogun State Police Command has issued a stern warning against throwing the state into chaos during Governor Dapo Abiodun’s upcoming second-term inauguration. The event, slated to take place on May 29, 2023, is expected to be a hitch-free ceremony, as the Police have employed adequate security measures.

In a recent statement issued by Abimbola Oyeyemi, the police have instructed all of the Command’s tactical teams, Area Commanders, and Divisional Police Officers to remain on high alert to thwart any attacks or violent incidents aimed at disrupting the event in any part of the state. As part of their security measures, the Command has deployed 24-hour surveillance patrols across the state to prevent any hoodlums or miscreants who might want to cause mayhem.

Oyeyemi stated that “The Command hereby appeals to parents and guardians to warn their children and wards not to allow themselves to be used by anyone to cause mayhem anywhere in the state, as anyone who attempts to do so will have to contend with the police and other security agencies,” adding that the police would not allow anyone, regardless of their status, to cause chaos in the state.

As the governor prepares for his second term inauguration, the Ogun State Police Command has assured the public of their unwavering commitment to sustaining peace and security in the state. The police have also advised residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the appropriate authorities.
