The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) has called on President Bola Tinubu to ensure the swift realisation of all his campaign promises for the betterment of Nigeria. Mr Oladele Amoko, the Ondo State Chairman of NLC, made this request in an interview with journalists in Akure on Tuesday.
Amoko congratulated Tinubu on assuming the presidency and advised him to ensure that the money saved from removing fuel subsidy does not fall into the wrong hands. He urged Tinubu to remember the high expectations of the people and carry out his promises, which he highlighted in his inaugural speech.
The NLC chairman also urged Tinubu to organise a stakeholders’ meeting to identify ways the money from removing fuel subsidy could be managed properly and not fall into the wrong hands, as had happened in the past.
“Because if we remove the subsidy, who are the people to manage the money the government is removing so that it won’t end up in other wrong hands as at used to be?” he asked.
He further stated, “Nigerians are tired of grammar, adjectives and policies without action. We want the government to put all the policies into action.”
The chairman expressed hope that President Tinubu would fulfill his promises, adding that Nigerians want to see action and change.
