NCYP Calls on Tinubu to Prioritize Appointing Competent Northern Christians

The Northern Christian Youth Professionals (NCYP) have congratulated President Bola Tinubu on his assumption of office as the new Nigerian President, requesting that Northern Christians be appointed into key positions of the administration.

NCYP Chairman, Isaac Abrak, stressed the group’s unwavering support during Tinubu’s campaign, underscoring the fact that Northern Christians have long yearned for increased representation in decision-making processes. By appointing deserving Northern Christians to vital positions, including the Secretary of the Government of the Federation and Security Chiefs, Tinubu would acknowledge their collective support while ensuring that their voices and diverse perspectives are heard at the highest levels.

Abrak further commended President Tinubu’s audacious announcement on the removal of fuel subsidy, as contained in his renewed hope manifesto. The Chairman also expressed hope that the Tinubu administration would follow through on its promise to revitalize the forest guards initiative in securing the nation’s forests from the threats of Boko Haram, bandits, and other violent groups.

Recognizing the magnitude of the task, Abrak expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership to achieve such a feat, citing his successful mass youth employment strategies as the former Governor of Lagos State. He also acknowledged Vice President Kashim Shettima’s instrumental role in establishing the Civilian Joint Task Force while he was Governor in Borno State.

Amidst the perceived difficulties, Abrak affirmed the group’s unwavering support and commitment to the Tinubu administration’s endeavors, offering their expertise and resources to help attain the set goals. He prayed for wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for the administration to navigate the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

The NCYP Chairman encouraged President Tinubu to remain steadfast in his resolve and push forward with vital policies, keeping in mind the potential to create a more sustainable and equitable economic environment for all Nigerians.

This call by the NCYP for competent Northern Christians to be appointed into key positions is a vital consideration for the Tinubu administration as it seeks to uphold the nation’s diversity and ensure inclusivity in governance.
